Instapak® Foam Packaging
Simple Facts About Foam-in-Place Packaging and the Environment
The cushions protecting this product are made of Instapak® polyurethane packaging foam, a material that minimizes the amount of packaging used without compromising the protection of shipped goods. Instapak® packaging complies with international legislation restricting the presence of heavy metals. Using Instapak® foam to protect products makes good environmental sense.
Source Reduction
Instapak® foam has superior cushioning abilities that provide maximum protection with a minimum of material. Less packaging is used, so less enters the waste stream.
Reuse
Instapak® foam cushions can be reused for multiple shipments or reshaped manually into carton fillers to fit the next product shipped.
Instapak® Foam Return Program
Instapak® foam can be returned to the sites listed below. All returned foam is diverted from the landfill and efficiently transported to local Waste-to-Energy facilities.
Please follow the steps below to return your Instapak® foam in North America:
- For 5 bags of cushions or less, one can drop between 9 AM- 3 PM next to Dock door 1*.
- For more than 5 bags, the material must be placed in gaylords on a pallet. If the customer has a baler, foam scraps may be baled and palletized. Please only use stretch wrap or plastic banding to secure the product to the pallet. No metal banding to the pallet. Once the product is ready, please email us using the appropriate North America email address below and include the customer’s location, so we can arrange a drop-off appointment. All shipments must be prepaid as CODs will not be accepted.
- All returns must be marked ATTN: Foam Return Program.
- All returns must be bagged, baled, or boxed/gaylord. They must also be clean, and dry and not adhere to any corrugated cardboard material.
- *This applies to all plants except Danbury, CT & Brampton, ON which do not have Dock 1. Less than 5 bags can be dropped at the Shipping and Receiving entrance.
