AUTOBAG® brand SidePouch® bags were developed specifically to work seamlessly with AUTOBAG® brand SPrint systems. While they are available in a wide range of material types depending on application, certain other physical characteristics ensure compatibility with AUTOBAG® brand equipment to help maximize productivity and throughput, while saving time and costs.
Developed in the late 1980s by what is now the Plastics Industry Association in the U.S., RIC stands for Resin Identification Code. RIC is a set of symbols and numbers that appear on plastic products that identify the plastic resin out of which the product is made, which helps with collection and sorting prior to recycling.
RIC4 – LDPE designates a plastic item made from low density polyethylene (LDPE) such as lightweight bags and flexible films. RIC4 – LDPE is used for AUTOBAG® brand SidePouch® bags because we have certified some of the material options to be compatible with current RIC4 recycling streams. In most cases in the U.S. RIC4 – LPDE is considered “store-drop off” recyclable, where such programs exist.
