CRYOVAC® brand Darfresh® on Board combines Darfresh® VSP top web with a custom printed, coated, paperboard base to create a wide range of retail-ready packaging for meat, poultry, seafood, and cheese.
Darfresh® on Board vacuum skin packaging can be utilized in any vacuum skin packaging (VSP) machine designed to handle boards or a zero scrap machine/solution using a system through Mondini. The outstanding thermoforming performance of the film facilitates leak-proof seals for protein products across various sizes, portions, and quantities.
This innovative food packaging film comes in a variety of gauges and permeabilities to meet specific product needs. Use of a specialty paperboard bottom provides a renewable material base that is easily separated from the film to make package recycling easy for consumers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Vacuum skin packaging, also called VSP or skin packaging, combines a thermoforming top film with a rigid bottom such as a pre-made tray, flexible bottom web or flat board. VSP encapsulates the food product and becomes like a second skin, eliminating almost all package atmosphere. Skin packaging is well suited for products that require a very secure seal such as meat, seafood, or cheese.
The flat surface of a boarded skin pack provides enhanced merchandising delivered by two full sides of printable surface that can show everything from serving and preparation suggestions to branding. The simple board bottom structure makes it easy and efficient to pack or display. And once separated from the film, the paperboard substrate is curbside recyclable.
