Our People

Meet: Tim Ray, Payroll Analyst

At Sealed Air, celebrating our people and their accomplishments is a core part of our culture. In our “Meet: Our People” series, you’ll hear directly from our people across the globe on what it’s like working at SEE, and a little bit about them outside of work.

Where I’m located: Charlotte, N.C., U.S.A.

Length of time with SEE: 24 years.

My workday consists of: Working through payroll tickets and emails, helping our employees, and working to ensure the goal of our people being paid correctly is met.

"Tim's job title doesn’t begin to explain his overall responsibilities, extensive payroll knowledge or his willingness to always support the people and processes around him," says Time Administrator Doreen Troscher. "When I think about the people who embrace collaboration, innovation and constantly offer a generous amount of support to our group and to Sealed Air, I certainly think of Tim."

What I enjoy most about working at SEE is: The people you meet. I've made lifelong friends here.

I feel passionate about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at SEE, because: It's important that each individual sees their worth and what they bring to the table, regardless of who they are.

The core value that inspires me the most is Integrity because: To succeed in both your business and personal life, you have to do the right thing, no matter what.

Someone who was an important influence on my career was: Former Simpsonville Plant Controller Chip Sexton because he gave me the opportunity to start in Payroll and to be able to grow into the role I have today. I started out in SEE’s Simpsonville, S.C., facility on third shift in the Rollstock Converting Department as a Packer and then moved to a Machine Attendant position in the same department. I graduated from Furman University in 2003, and in 2005, moved into the Time Administrator role. My payroll career progressed, and in 2017, I had the opportunity to move to Global Corporate Headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., and finally, in 2019, I moved to my current role on the U.S. & Canada Payroll team.
