At Sealed Air, celebrating our people and their accomplishments is a core part of our culture. In our “Meet: Our People” series, you’ll hear directly from our people across the globe on what it’s like working at SEE, and a little bit about them outside of work.
Location: Qingpu, China.
Length of time with SEE: Over 4 years.
My workday consists of: Making sure that our teams are working in compliance and safely. Every day is different, but my weeks consist of working with the IFS* Asia teams to improve the overall Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) capability which includes: all plant EHS compliance, EHS culture, follow global EHS requirement, equipment safety improvement and management team and staff safety awareness.
*SEE acquired the global business of Fagerdala Company in 2017, which is referred to as IFS.
What is your favorite part about your job? Knowing that I can help my colleagues work safely and return home safely. Working together, through our own efforts, and through collective cooperation we can achieve Zero Harm.
What I enjoy most about working at SEE is: Everyone is very passionate about their jobs and what they do. I also appreciate the feedback I receive from managers. My leaders are a great support. They are always available to offer advice and appreciate the hard work we do.
I feel passionate about Zero Harm at SEE, because: Since I work in EHS, being safe is our most important goal. I hope every employee understands how much our EHS team cares about them and appreciates our safety culture.
Someone who was an important influence on my career was:
Two people: Alex Zhou and Diane DelaCruz
Alex Zhou because he was one of my interviewers before I joined SEE. He was a great interviewer and did a very thorough job explaining situations and EHS requirements here at SEE. Since I joined SEE, he has provided me with strong support. He was a huge factor in my success and my quick integration into the culture here.
Diane DelaCruz is my manager, and not only does she offer support with my work, but she also respects me as an employee and trusts my suggestions for ways of improvement. She also openly shares her experiences and ideas which could help the IFS Asia team continue to improve EHS.
Away from work you can find me: Living life to the fullest! I enjoy spending time with my wife, my son and my dog, Max. My hobbies include playing basketball and football. I enjoy cooking and eating good food. I also go to the movies and plays when I have time.
