SEALED AIR INTRODUCES NEW POUCH PACKAGING SYSTEM: FLEXPREP™

Flexible Package for Condiments and Sauces Increases Operational Efficiency for Foodservice Retailers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE) introduced its latest innovation at the 2017 National Restaurant Association Show—Cryovac® FlexPrep, a new flexible pouch system used to dispense condiments and sauces. Today’s foodservice operators are looking for simple ways to expand their menus to deliver fresh, new flavors to their customers. FlexPrep allows for more sauce options without requiring added kitchen space.

FlexPrep enables the user to store the product longer and dispense the entire product in the dispensing pouch. Nearly doubling the shelf-life for certain condiments and enabling increased portion and inventory control, this new offering reduces waste significantly. Plus, by moving from rigid to flexible packaging, FlexPrep delivers a 60 percent carbon footprint reduction. By maximizing product usage on multiple fronts, retailers are able to boost their bottom lines.

“In our experience working with back-of-house operators, we know that the decades-long practice of scooping product from jars and other containers is messy and time-consuming and lends itself to possible contamination and human error,” said Joe Ramirez, marketing director for Sealed Air Food Care. “FlexPrep was designed to help solve this. It cuts down on preparation time while reducing handling and possible contact, increasing efficiency and food safety.”

FlexPrep helps retailers expand their offerings of sauces and condiments to include more flavors and customer options without compromising velocity, cost and speed of service, so foodservice operators can focus on delivering a consistent, excellent product and customer experience.

“In today’s marketplace, consumers are looking for a variety of global flavors,” said Ramirez. “FlexPrep requires less space and ensures maximum product usage, so foodservice retailers can meet these modern demands easily and efficiently by adding new sauces and condiments.”

Additionally, FlexPrep is easy for both foodservice workers and processors to adopt. It’s simple to operate and can be produced in a wide variety of package sizes. Plus, this innovative solution integrates with existing dispenser platforms available in the industry.
