Receives 2007 Innovation Award
DANBURY, CONN. (Nov. 16, 2007) –Sealed Air Corp. received the American
Chemistry Council’s 2007 Polyurethane “Innovation Award” in the Finished Product category
for its Instapak Quick® Room Temperature (RT) foam packaging. Awards were given to
products demonstrating the most innovative uses of polyurethane.
The American Chemistry Council announced the winners during the closing session of its
Polyurethanes Technical Conference in Orlando, Fla. this past September. Awards were given
for three categories including; Polyurethane Chemicals, Processing Equipment and Finished
Products.
Submissions for the awards were evaluated by a panel of five judges representing a range
of polyurethane experience, knowledge and industry associations. The judges chose Sealed Air’s
Instapak Quick® RT foam packaging as one of two finalists for the Finished Product category.
Finalists were on display during the 2007 Polyurethanes Technical Conference and the winner
was chosen by votes from the more than 975 conference attendees, representing more than 40
different countries.
“The purpose of the Polyurethane Innovation Award is to highlight the efforts and
foresight of companies and individuals whose visions have brought new products to the
marketplace,” said Neeva-Gayle Candelori, director of the American Chemistry Council’s Center
for the Polyurethanes Industry.
Instapak Quick® RT foam packaging provides users with a custom-fit protective cushion
that is fast, easy-to-use and does not require equipment like traditional Instapak® foam
packaging. It dramatically increases the convenience of using Instapak® foam packaging because
users can produce protective foam cushions at any location and support multiple packaging areas
easily, without the burden of capital investment and installation requirements associated with
