Sealed Air’s Cryovac® Multi-Seal™ Reclosable Deli Package Honored with 2008/2009 AmeriStar Award

DUNCAN, S.C. (March 24, 2009) - Sealed Air’s Cryovac® Multi-Seal™ package will be honored with a 2008/2009 AmeriStar Award from the Institute of Packaging Professionals during the Packing Summit Expo and Conference on May 19 in Rosemont, Ill.

The Cryovac® Multi-Seal™ package will be recognized in the contest’s food category. For this year’s competition, more than 100 packages were entered in 15 categories. The packages were judged on a number of criteria, including innovation, package performance and environmental impact.

The Multi-Seal™ package for sliced meats and cheeses can be easily and reliably opened and resealed numerous times over the life of the product. The package uses less material because it does not require a zipper or tear-notch feature.

While consumers will enjoy the ease with which they can open and reseal the Cryovac® Multi-Seal package, processors will appreciate that they do not need to invest in new equipment, as the package runs on existing thermoforming equipment.

In addition to the AmeriStar Award, the Multi-Seal™ package won a Gold Award for Technical Innovation at this year’s Flexible Packaging Association Achievement Awards.
