Cryovac® BL-101 Automatic Taped Bag Loader System Delivers Inline Space Efficiency and Labor Savings for Processors

DUNCAN, S.C (Nov. 7, 2004) - The Cryovac Food Packaging Division of Sealed Air Corporation will introduce its latest in a growing family of automated bag loaders - the BL-101 - at this year’s Pack Expo International in Chicago Nov. 7 - 11. The system will be featured in booth 2413S at McCormick Place.

The Cryovac® BL-101 bag loader is a complete inline system developed for loading individual and multiple cuts of fresh red meat into boxed or rolled taped bags. The loader is fully automatic with packaging speeds up to 15 cycles per minute. Combined with integrated conveying, automated bag loaders can create more continuous product flow, eliminating production bottlenecks. In addition, it can collect and transmit operations data to enhance processors’ ability to precisely track productivity and better understand operational efficiencies.

The system is suited for fresh meat cuts, such as beef ribeyes, picnics, pork butts, top rounds and two-piece flats. Smoked and processed applications such as spiral-cut hams are particularly well suited for this auto loader.

The Cryovac® BL-101 system opens the bags and indexes the meat to a labor saving product pusher assembly that automatically pushes the meat through a ‘duckbill-type’ loading horn into the opened bag. This auto loader handles bag widths of 9 inches to 14 inches and bag lengths of 14 inches to 24 inches. Limited in-plant printing may be included with the BL-101 loader. The system is constructed of stainless steel and is designed for use in USDA inspected plants.
