Sealed Air’s New SpeedyPacker® Continuous Foam Tube Add-on Kit Helps Make Easy, Customized Packages for the SpeedyPacker® III System
DANBURY, Conn. (Oct. 14, 2003) - The new SpeedyPacker® Continuous Foam Tube Add-on Kit, designed specifically for Sealed Air’s SpeedyPacker® III foam-in-bag system, allows the production of small foam tubes in a sealed bag that can be placed where product protection is needed. The tubes can be contiguous or produced in series, with or without film spacing in between them. The result is a "one-step" engineered package, made by the touch of a button.
The standard SpeedyPacker® III foam-in-bag packaging system dispenses a mixture of "A" component and "B" component into a SpeedyPacker® film bag. When mixed, the "A" and "B" components react with each other to create high-quality polyurethane packaging foam on demand.
With the installation of continuous foam tubes (CFT), an operator can produce a variety of custom foam-tube configurations. Continuous foam tubes can be used in applications including, but not limited to, blocking and bracing, containment, cushioning, molding, void fill and wrapping.
The continuous foam tubes (CFT) add-on-kit consists of system hardware and enabling software, which allows the SpeedyPacker® III to produce standard foam-filled bags or foam tubes. The foam tubes can be made in advance and stored for later use.
The tubes created by the SpeedyPacker® CFT add-on kit range from 2 ½-inches to 5-inches thick and 4-inches to 16-inches wide. Foam tubes created by the SpeedyPacker® III system are used to protect appliances, automotive products, computer hardware, furniture, lighting and motors.
