DUNCAN, S.C. (Sept. 15, 2005) - The Cryovac Food Packaging Division of Sealed Air Corporation introduces Premier Dri-Loc® absorbent pads for fresh red meats, poultry and fish. These innovative pads provide unparalleled moisture absorption and a new opaque top that hides otherwise visible meat juices - ensuring a clean, neat appearance for retail merchandising.

The Cryovac® Premier Dri-Loc® pad is crafted with a proprietary opaque polymer top layer that effectively masks unsightly purge in the absorbent pad and a cloth-like bottom layer that enables more rapid absorption of the juices. The cloth backing rapidly soaks up meat juices so they do not collect in the tray and become noticeable to shoppers. Superabsorbent polymers - which can hold up to 50 times their weight in liquid - also are included in the structural absorbent layers to lock juices into the pad.

The cloth backing also extends to the edges of the pad to actively attract purge regardless of the display arrangement. Even packages displayed in a shingled format maintain a neat appearance within the retail case. In addition to enhancing merchandising appeal, the Premier Dri-Loc® absorbent pad also keeps the package drier, extending the shelf life of the product.

Cryovac® Premier Dri-Loc® absorbents are available with guaranteed absorbencies of 40 grams or 50 grams of liquid. The pads are available in a full range of colors and sizes, from 4 inches by 6 inches up to 5 inches by 7 inches to complement almost any supermarket tray.
