Bubble Wrap® Cushioning Now Acknowledged By AP Stylebook

Saddle Brook, N.J. (July 7, 2004) - Bubble Wrap® is a registered trademark of Sealed Air Corporation for its brand of air cellular cushioning used for packaging, and now is recognized by the AP Stylebook.

Through the years, Bubble Wrap® has become recognized worldwide as a brand of cushioning and unfortunately is misused often as a generic term for cushioning, similar to the improper use of "Kleenex®" (brand of tissue) to refer to all tissues. Since Bubble Wrap® is a registered trademark of Sealed Air Corporation for its brand of cushioning, it cannot be used as a generic term for air cellular material.
