The Museum of Modern Art Features Bubble Wrap® Cushioning

Saddle Brook, N.J. (May 12, 2004) - The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in Queens, N.Y. is featuring Sealed Air Corporation’s Bubble Wrap® cushioning in its Humble Masterpieces exhibit from April 8 to Sept. 27, 2004. The exhibit is a tribute to the inspired design of everyday objects and will include more than 120 cleverly designed objects ranging from chopsticks to a helicopter.

"Sealed Air was founded in 1960 by the inventors of Bubble Wrap® cushioning and is now a Fortune 500 company with $3.5 billion in annual revenues," William V. Hickey, president and chief executive officer of Sealed Air Corporation, stated. "The founders of Sealed Air originally developed Bubble Wrap® cushioning to be used as a wallpaper treatment, but soon realized it would provide excellent protection when used as a packaging material. Through the years, consumers also have found alternate, non-packaging and ‘fun’ uses for Bubble Wrap® cushioning and we think it makes a great addition to the museum’s exhibit."
