Sealed Air Corporation Introduces "Soft Touch" Polyethylene Foam

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. (July 23, 2003) - Sealed Air Corporation’s new Cell-Aire® ST polyethylene foam provides a soft, non-abrasive, high coefficient-of-friction surface for superior product protection

The "soft touch" surface of Cell-Aire® ST foam is excellent at protecting items such as furniture, dishware, electronics and other fragile pieces from becoming scratched during handling and transportation. The high coefficient-of-friction allows the foam to be naturally tacky, which provides a low-slip surface to hold items in place. Additional features of Cell-Aire® ST foam include its greater tear resistance as it has more stretch and elasticity before tearing compared to standard polyethylene foams. In addition, the closed-cell foam construction provides a moisture barrier and thermal insulation. Cell-Aire® ST foam facilitates the reduction of solid waste by efficiently replacing bulkier and heavier packaging materials.

Cell-Aire® ST polyethylene foam is ideal to use as light-duty cushioning and surface protection for items such as appliances, automotive parts, books, dishware, electronics, furniture, musical instruments, and pharmaceuticals. Also, food-grade Cell-Aire® ST foam is available for packing fresh fruit and vegetables.

Offered in an attractive light blue color, Cell-Aire® ST foam is available in 48-inch, 60-inch and 72-inch widths. Each width also is available in four thicknesses ranging from as thin as 1/32 inch to as thick as 1/8 inch.
