Cryovac® BL-135 Smart Rack™ Maximizes On-Line Print Capabilities and Helps Reduce Bag Inventory

DUNCAN, S.C (March 21, 2005) - The Cryovac® BL-135 Smart Rack™ bag dispensing system, new from the Cryovac Food Packaging Division of Sealed Air Corporation, gives processors the ability to customize bags with printed information at the touch of a button.

The Smart Rack™ system is equipped with a thermal transfer printer, and dispenses rolled, serrated bags enabling processors to reduce the number of pre-printed bags they carry in inventory. The system prints one color in a 2-inch by 4-inch dynamic field suited for graphics, logos, establishment numbers, date, traceability codes and other plant specific information. The Smart Rack™ system has continuous printing, not ink stamping, which creates a more attractive package.

With the Cryovac® Smart Rack™ bag dispensing system, the operator can easily and quickly enter information such as print and set-up data into the machine using the conveniently located display screen, and view diagnostic and production information there, too. Bag changeover times are reduced to practically nothing because the system’s modular design can accommodate up to four bag sizes simultaneously, with each module capable of independent thermal transfer printing. This design enables processors to add more bag options to the base equipment without having to purchase a separate system

With printing speeds up to 20 cycles per minute, the Cryovac® Smart Rack™ bag dispensing system can handle bag widths up to 18 inches and bag lengths up to 40 inches.
