The New Fill-Air® NTS inflatable packaging system from Sealed Air Corporation Provides On-Demand, Clean and Fast Packaging

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. (Jan. 10, 2005) - The Fill-Air® NTS packaging system from Sealed Air Corporation is the newest and most simple solution for space-saving inflatable packaging. The system produces clear inflatable cushions that are an ideal packaging alternative to bulky void fill materials.

Offering portable, table-side convenience, the Fill-Air® NTS system can be installed beside or behind the workstation. Weighing only 79 pounds, the system has a small footprint that easily fits into any packaging area and frees up packing table space. An automatic sensor keeps the bin full of cushions which can lead to increased productivity levels, and the modular components make for quick and simple servicing.

Cushions made on the Fill-Air® NTS system can be created on-demand so they are readily available for packagers and reduce the need to store packaging materials. Equipped with a large, removable bin, the system is ideal for batching applications or producing multiple size cushions. An optional roll mandrel, which can be purchased separately, offers added packaging convenience by enabling easy dispensing of two types of packaging materials - Fill-Air® cushions and Bubble Wrap® air cellular cushioning material.

Fill-Air® NTS inflatable cushions provide excellent protection to items when used for void-fill applications. The lightweight cushions reduce material and shipping costs because they fill larger voids without increasing the overall weight of the package. The cushions are available in three convenient sizes: 8 inches by 5 inches, 8 inches by 8 inches and 8 inches by 12 inches.

To begin using the Fill-Air® NTS system, simply plug it in and turn it on - the entire system is electric and works off of a standard 110-volt outlet. Next, install the easy-to-load roll of uninflated bags by placing the roll of film on the mandrel and feeding the edge onto the rollers. The bags are automatically drawn through two rollers, inflated with air, sealed and collected in the cushion bin.

Once the inflated cushions are collected in the bin, the timesaving, automatic refill feature is activated. When the Fill-Air® NTS inflatable cushion supply is low, the sensor is triggered and the system automatically begins producing more cushions until the supply is replenished. Once the cushion bin is filled to capacity, the system automatically ceases cushion production. This unique feature ensures there is always an adequate amount of Fill-Air® NTS inflatable cushions available for packaging.
