Cryovac® Absorbent Pads Provide a Dryer Package to Keep Products Fresh Longer

DUNCAN, S.C. (Jan. 28, 2004) – As part of its total packaging systems, the Cryovac® Food Packaging Division of Sealed Air Corporation, a recognized leader in fresh food packaging, offers a variety of absorbent pads developed to provide superior moisture control and produce appealing packages.

Cryovac® Dri-Loc® Meat, Fish and Poultry Pads and Pad-Loc™ Super Absorbent (PLS) Processor Pads are ideal for reducing the excess moisture in a variety of meat, fish and poultry. The Cryovac® family of absorbent pads is designed to keep items fresh longer and help reduce the number of rewraps and product downgrades by absorbing purge without drying the meat. In addition, the pads are available in a variety of sizes, colors and absorbencies.

Dri-Loc® Absorbent Pads contain highly absorbent layers of fluff pulp completely enclosed in a sealed polyethylene pouch with one-way valves and sealed edges to lock in free flowing juices. Moisture is absorbed only from the bottom of the pad in order not to “dry out” the meat so it maintains its fresh, juicy appearance longer. The Pad-Loc™ Super Absorbent Processor (PLS) Pads use technology that enables up to 30-to-1 pad weight absorption. Top and bottom layers are tightly bonded, enabling the PLS pads to withstand the rigors of MAP equipment. The unique four-edge seal keeps moisture in its place and keeps super absorbent granules from migrating.

Cryovac retail foam trays deliver consistent quality in weight, color, count and machinability. Their combined strength, durability and variety are unsurpassed. They are available in a range of stock sizes and colors including white, blue, green, yellow, charcoal and rose. Cryovac® processor trays have the strength to withstand the most rigorous packaging demands and come in a variety of sizes and colors. Pre-padded trays are available with any Cryovac® absorbent materials to meet specific packaging needs.
