Improved Shrink Cryovac® TBG Bag Offers a Clearer View
60 Percent Improvement in Shrink Provides Better Optics and Destination Performance
DUNCAN, S.C. (March 5, 2003) - Cryovac/Sealed Air, a worldwide leader in fresh food packaging, has enhanced its TBG bag to provide better shrink and optics giving it even better destination performance. Designed to provide better shrink without compromising toughness, this high abuse bag affords optimum protection for bone-in cuts like roasts, beef short ribs, single spare ribs, rack of lamb or pork, and standing beef rib roasts
With a 60 percent improvement in shrink, Cryovac’s TBG Bag improves merchandising appeal because ears are minimized, and unsightly purge has less room to collect, but the bag retains its durability. Shoppers also get a clearer view of the product because of the bag’s ultra-clear bone-guard patches.
The Cryovac® TBG Bag helps to maintain in-stock position better because vacuum-packaging extends products’ shelf-life, making meat case inventory management simpler even during high demand periods. A 2002 Cryovac/NCBA meat case composite study found that when back ribs were found in store in limited selection (one to four packages), 69 percent of the time they were store wrapped. But, when the in-stock position was better, five or more ribs packages, they were in bags 69 percent of the time, explaining why ribs continue moving toward vacuum packaging.
Available in both plain and printed options, the TBG bag can be trap printed with up to
eight colors, and its improved optics creates a better presentation for multi-colored labels and other graphics.
