Environment, Health and Safety Policy
POLICY:
It is Sealed Air's policy to conduct its business in compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental laws. The health and safety of our employees, customers, and communities and prevention of pollution are among Sealed Air’s primary concerns. Sealed Air is committed to continual improvement, providing safe working conditions for our employees, and to promoting the safe design, use and handling of Sealed Air products. Each employee is expected to promote these goals in his or her tasks. We also work toward safety and environmental excellence as an integral part of our World Class Manufacturing program.
Each Division President has ultimate responsibility for the administration of EHS programs and regulatory compliance; however, compliance with this Policy is the responsibility of every Sealed Air employee.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR SAC's ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY:
The following principles will guide all Sealed Air Employees in their decisions and actions with regard to protecting the environment, eliminating hazards, and reducing risk:
- The primary responsibilities for environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance and implementation activities are placed at the lowest practicable level of management.
- All employees will understand their role within the EHS Policy and comply with the policies, procedures and guidelines established to protect the environment, and the health and safety of themselves and their coworkers.
- EHS considerations are an important element in the design, production, distribution, use, recycling, and ultimate disposal of our products.
|
- Proactive targets will be set to improve EHS performance and these targets will be measured and published.
- Our employees will receive training to perform their jobs safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
- We will communicate our EHS Policy and commitment to employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders, and the community.
- The EHS Steering Committee will maintain corporate oversight on EHS issues.
