Commitments to Community & People Development

• Encourage and promote employee volunteerism

• Respond quickly to the needs of neighbors impacted by natural disaster

• Through financial, technological and employee donations, combat the growing issue of world hunger

We aim to build stronger and healthier communities though our internal Make a Difference Strategic Initiative in which we identify opportunities for employees to work together to have a lasting and significant impact on the world. Our community efforts focus on projects that link our technical abilities, business know-how and employee enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Our continuous community involvement is influenced by the unique needs of the varied communities we do business; however, our efforts our focused on:

World Hunger – Changing the Way The World Feeds Itself

With an estimated 850 million people in the world lacking adequate amounts of food, Sealed Air is actively engaged in both food donation programs and identifying contributions where Sealed Air food packaging technology and systems can make a difference in addressing the problem of world hunger by reducing food spoilage.

Our world hunger efforts focus on the unavailability of food as part of a larger issue of “access” to sufficient amounts of safe and quality foods – especially in developing countries where food supplies are often adequate at the national level but large portions of hard-won harvests are often lost and fresh foodstuffs never reach the table because of poor transportation or deterioration and spoilage during storage.

We believe that by working together with our partners throughout the supply chain, we can help developing countries harness new technologies, capture and share knowledge and use sustainable production practices for improving yield, packaging and distribution of food crops – not only helping farmers expand crop production to meet their own needs, but to generate a saleable surplus that can be linked to other markets.
